Wedding insurance won't "break the bank"

Wedding insurance won't "break the bank"

23rd June 2008

As getting married is an expensive venture it is important that couples remember to plan wedding insurance into the cost of their big day.

That is according to wedding advice site hitched.co.uk, which estimates that the average wedding costs around £17,800.

Francesca Moore, spokewoman for the wedding website, said that they "would recommend taking out wedding insurance right at the beginning or as soon as the first major expenditure has been booked, bought or hired, such as a photographer, the wedding dress or the venue."

Although consumers may be tempted to save costs in the current unstable economic climate, the site suggest that "it could really benefit you in the long run".

Ms Moore went on to reassure couples that "compared to the amount that you are spending on the whole day, the cost of wedding insurance shouldn’t really break the bank".

Couples have been advised to find a policy that suits their needs best and to shop around to ensure that they have adequate cover.
