You and Your Wedding and Cosmopolitan Bride magazines: Getting wedding insurance is a "sensible thing for them to do"

Couples who are going to spend thousands of pounds on their wedding day have been told that it is "sensible" to get wedding insurance.

The advice came from You and Your Wedding and Cosmopolitan Bride magazines, which have said that wedding "insurance is a useful thing to have".

Matt Salmon, group publishing director at You and Your Wedding and Cosmopolitan Bride magazines, said that as a magazine they would always encourage people to take out wedding insurance.

He explained that it makes sense in proportion to the money spent on the day: "If they are spending £15,000 to £20,000 on their wedding for a hundred pounds they can buy wedding insurance, I think it is a fairly sensible thing for them to do."

Mr Salmon also said that it was the "big things you want to insure against; your venue having a fire, things like that".
